- Would-be world traveler (OK, Europe-centric), I've been accused of enjoying the homework almost as much as the trip: learning the language, reading the books, renting the movies, polling the friends for advice, trolling the museum websites and dreaming about the food. My ultimate goal: seeing all the Vermeers in the world "in situ:" of the 36 (ish), I'm at 29. I travel in the footsteps of Jan Morris, Marcel Proust, Henry James and John Singer Sargent.
